Statement: I believe it is incumbent upon all of us to ensure we have the highest quality education available to everyone. This is not accomplished by being passive; this is accomplished by being present in the schools regularly, engaging your neighbors to facilitate common goals between the schools and community, and demanding high expectations from leadership.
As a member of the Eastmont School Board, I would advocate for an expansion of the district’s STEM and vocational activities across the entire student population. I would work with local businesses to identify mentoring and internship opportunities that would benefit both sides. These opportunities are not meant to replace a secondary education; they are meant to promote vocational opportunities in the area for youth whom a secondary education is not an immediate or realistic option.
I would be honored to have your support. Please visit my website, www.donshennum.com, for further information.
