Statement: State Representative Mike Chapman has developed a reputation for hard work and common sense. Accomplishments include fully funding our schools, voting against the largest property tax increase in our State’s history while voting for a property tax cut in 2018. Secured transportation funding for a new Hwy 101 Elwha River Bridge, and sponsored bi-partisan legislation creating private-public partnerships offering college scholarships for job skills training for rural residents.
Mike’s leadership on rural economic development includes introducing legislation to reduce B&O taxes for rural small businesses and manufacturers. He also supports sustainable natural resource management on the Peninsula.
