2018 General Election Voters' Guide
Legislative District 29 - State Senator
Legislative

Coming Soon
Pierre Malebranche
(Prefers Independent Party)

Elected Experience: No information submitted

Other Professional Experience: Pierre served three years on active duty in the U.S. Army, followed by more than five years in the Washington National Guard at Camp Murray. He has been driving trucks for over 20 years.

Education: High school diploma; credits from Pierce College

Community Service: Pierre and his wife Jeong In are active in their children's schools in Tacoma. They provide hours of community service at St. Patrick's Catholic School and Puget Sound Dance Academy. They are supportive parents for Hard Work Beats Talent Sports (HWBT), to sustain and encourage children in East Tacoma and fundraisers at Bellarmine Preparatory School.

Statement: Pierre came to Tacoma in 1985 as a young U.S. Army soldier stationed at Fort Lewis, and he has lived in Pierce County ever since. An immigrant from Haiti, Pierre fell in love with Mount Rainier and the beautiful scenery of the Northwest. He and his wife Jeong In, an immigrant from South Korea, are raising their two children in our community.

Pierre is a working man who drives trucks for a living, but he has grown tired of politics as usual in Olympia. He is running for the State Senate because South Tacoma, Lakewood, Parkland, and Spanaway need new representation. He knows that his neighbors are ready for change.

The incumbent is out of touch with his constituents.  He has voted repeatedly to raise taxes, and he voted against tax relief.

Pierre will fight for three things as your State Senator: First, lower property taxes.  Second, lower car tabs. Third, lower crime rates.  Pierre is deeply connected to our community and determined to give back as our next State Senator.
